Jeff Hirst, the 1986 national diving champion, was near perfection as a member of the Varsity Blues Diving Team at the University of Toronto.

Between 1983 and 1987 Jeff earned medals at all four Ontario and Canadian university championships he competed in, leading U of T to four OUAA team titles. At the national level he accumulated seven medals over his career including three gold and one bronze in the 3-metre and a gold, silver and bronze from the 1-metre board. In fact, in his final year as a Varsity Blues athlete Jeff won double gold at the national university finals, earning him CIAU Diver of the Meet honours.

The five-time All-Canadian was also a team co-captain in 1986-87 and was named U of T's Male Athlete of the Year for his stellar season.

Jeff took his diving to the international stage as a member of the national diving team from 1981-88. He was national champion in 1986, was a member of the Olympic team in 1988 and took a fifth-place finish at both the 1982 and 1986 Commonwealth Games.

Beyond all of Jeff's accolades in the pool, he is an accomplished fitness consultant and started Training Zone Fitness Consultants Inc., a training leader in the city of Toronto.
