Leslie Wilson was a model of consistency, qualifying for the finals in both OWIAA and CIAU competition in each of her five seasons (1986-91) with the Varsity Blues women’s track and field team.

During her five seasons at the University of Toronto, Wilson was a member of two OWIAA championship and one CIAU championship teams. She won two OWIAA medals, garnering provincial all-star honours in 1990, and two CIAU medals, including the 1989 CIAU long jump title. She was named a CIAU all-Canadian for her efforts that season.

Prior to joining the Blues, Wilson was named the 1986 Nova Scotia female athlete of the year. She still holds the outdoor youth and junior, as well as the indoor senior long jump records in Nova Scotia. She was also a member of Canada’s first-ever world junior championship team in 1986.
