Carlee Cardwell’s outstanding soccer career for the Varsity Blues was one of national honours that produced a record that still stands today.

During her four years as a physical education student at U of T, the commanding defender was one of the most influential players in the country. Carlee was instrumental in the team’s success, with an OWIAA bronze medal in 1989 and a silver medal in 1990. She also guided the team to gold and silver finishes at the prestigious Old Four Tournament.
Named an all-star by both the OWIAA and CIAU in each of her four seasons, in 1989 Carlee was the only rookie recognized as an all-Canadian, earning second team honours. She was the first – and presently, the only – university women’s soccer player to be named an all-Canadian for four consecutive years.

Carlee also spent two seasons on the Ontario Provincial Team and was selected to attend camp at the National Training Centre in 1989.
