Hall of Fame
Stephanie Jaremko was the University of Toronto Varsity Blues’ first CIAU diving champion. Undefeated in four years of league competition on both the 1m and 3m boards, she collected eight OWIAA gold medals.
The Toronto native burst onto the scene in her rookie year in 1978-79, winning two gold medals at the OWIAA championship. She nearly repeated that incredible feat at the CIAU championship, winning gold (1m) and silver (3m), and in the process was named the CIAU female diver of the year.
The following year Stephanie repeated with a double gold medal performance and wrapped up her second undefeated season as the CIAU female diver of the year. In 1981, she went on to her third straight OWIAA ‘double’ and battled a strong CIAU field to finish third in the 3m and fourth in the 1m event.
Stephanie’s outstanding individual accomplishments played a key role in four straight OWIAA and CIAU swimming team championships captured by the U of T women.
Stephanie was a member of Canada’s senior diving team from 1977 to 1980 and was a senior national medallist 14 times.
