Mary "Mickey" Barnett

Mickey Barnett made a major contribution to the growth of Varsity women's Basketball as both a player and a coach. As a student-athlete, she played on the Blues from 1945-47 and was a key member of two championship teams. She also played Intramural Basketball for three years, winning two championships. An outstanding athlete, Mickey represented Ontario at Canadian championships in both basketball and volleyball in the late 1950's and early 1960's. As a high school teacher in Toronto Barnett was the volunteer coach of the women's Basketball Blues for 13 seasons from 1948-61, winning six league championships.
