Jennifer Rawson

A standout on the ice for Toronto from 1996 to 2001, Rawson capped off her six-year career by leading the Varsity Blues to the 2001 CIAU championship (35-0-0 overall) title, U of T’s first national title in women’s hockey.
That season, Rawson earned her third career OWIAA all-star recognition, second consecutive CIAU all-Canadian nod, was named a CIAU tournament all-star, the CIAU championship MVP, both the U of T and OUA female athlete of the year and as a result was the OUA’s BLG female nominee.
A three-year team captain, Rawson led Toronto to three OWIAA titles and three silver medals. In addition to their national title, she helped the team to a CIAU silver medal at the inaugural women’s hockey championship in 1997-98 and a bronze medal in 1998-99.
Following her career at U of T, she played in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and was invited to the Canadian national team training camp.
She served as an assistant coach with the Blues for five seasons, before becoming the head coach of the UBC Thunderbirds in 2011-12. Rawson then moved back to Toronto and became an assistant coach with the York Lions, before assuming head coach duties for an interim season in 2013-14. She is a Level II Hockey Canada high performance coach.
