George has enjoyed a successful career in not one but two sports – swimming and water polo – racking up impressive achievements as an athlete, a coach and an administrator.
An internationally-successful athlete in his own right, George has made an equal if not greater impact as a coach and administrator, playing an invaluable role in strengthening the University of Toronto’s men’s and women’s water polo programs.
Blues men’s water polo coach from 1987 to 1989, George guided the team to consistently impressive records. For the past 10 years, he has assumed general manager duties for both the Blues men’s and women’s water polo teams, playing a key role in both recruiting and fundraising. He also keeps the Blues competitive year-round by recruiting them to compete with his club team outside of the intercollegiate season.
