Peggy Bailey had a remarkable swimming career as a member of the first and four-time women’s champion intercollegiate Swim team from 1935 through 1939. She was the individual intercollegiate Swim champion three successive years – in 1935, 1936 and 1937, and served as captain for three years, between 1936 through 1939. Peggy also excelled in interfaculty Swimming and Diving, in which she was an individual champion in both sports.

As a leader at Victoria College, she served in the Athletic Club for two years and on the Women’s Athletic Association Directorate. Peggy also won the Ishbel Robertson Trophy for three successive years in 1936, 1937 and 1938, as the interfaculty individual swimming champion.
