Paul Laurent was the leading centre on the powerful Varsity Blues hockey team from 1965-70. During that period, he helped Blues to gain five consecutive league titles and four CIAU national championships. In his final game, he scored the winning goal in the CIAU Gold Medal match in the last minute of regulation time. Paul received five First Colours and a Bronze "T", earned the Dafoe Trophy as team MVP in 1968-69 and 1969-70, was team captain in 1968-69 and won the Biggs Trophy in 1969-70. He was named a league All-Star in each of his five seasons, and amassed 186 points in league games from 95 goals and 91 assists. A quarter-century after his last game, his scoring accomplishments rank among the top ten in both Blues and league records.
