A versatile and gifted athlete, Mary Macdonald competed for the Blues in Archery (1951-53) and Basketball (championship teams in 1951 and 1953). She also participated in intramural Archery, Badminton, Basketball and Softball. Macdonald competed in 10 national Basketball finals, played on six national champion club championship teams and was a member of the Canadian Basketball team at three Pan-American Games. She also played on seven national Volleyball club champions. Within a two-week period in 1965, Mary was named Most Valuable Player at the national championship tournaments in both Basketball and Volleyball. Retired from a career in high school teaching, she is living in Vancouver.
