Nancy McKinley (Ballantyne) competed for four seasons at the University of Toronto and went on to to enjoy an illustrious badminton career on both the national and international stages.

McKinley was the 1967-68 intercollegiate women’s singles champion and was a team captain for all four seasons. She played a key role in leading the Blues to the WIAU team championship in 1967-78, 1969-70 and 1970-71.

McKinley earned her first national recognition as the 1968 Canadian junior singles champion. After claiming the 1970 Canadian doubles title, she won her first of three consecutive national women’s singles titles in 1971. She represented Canada at the 1970 and 1974 Commonwealth Games and went on to become a top national squash player, winning the Canadian singles title in 1979 and 1981.
