Noted as an outstanding open-field runner, Jack Maynard played on Blues intermediate team in 19O9 and then in 191O he scored one touchdown and kicked a convert plus 2 singles as Blues won their second Grey Cup by defeating Hamilton Tigers 16-7. He was elected Blues captain in 1911, and kicked two converts and one single in the 14-7 Grey Cup victory over the Argos. He played on Blues intercollegiate team in 1912 and was elected captain in his final season(1913). He returned to the Blues as coach in 1921 and 1922, and guided Varsity to the intercollegiate title in 1921.
Maynard was Vice-President of the UofT men's Athletic Directorate in 1913-14 and served on the athletics Advisory Board from 1922 until his death in 194O.
