In his 13 seasons as the head coach of the Varsity Blues baseball team, Dan Lang has had a lasting impression on University of Toronto intercollegiate athletics and their role in the community.

Dan was twice named OUA coach of the year (2004, 2006). Dan, who retires in 2010, will be Toronto’s longest standing head baseball coach. He has produced more than 20 league all-stars during his tenure. Under his guidance, the Varsity Blues won two OUA championships, two OUA silver medals and earned two Canadian Intercollegiate Baseball Association (CIBA) silver medals (1999 and 2000) and four CIABA East division championship titles.

Through successful fundraising, Dan shepherded the project for the Varsity Blues permanent baseball facility at the University of Toronto at Scarborough. In 2004, he began a free clinic program for Toronto Parks and Recreation as well as the North Toronto Baseball Association.

In 2007, Dan organized the inaugural Varsity Blues high school classic, now an annual tournament for GTA secondary schools.
