Mark Magee’s soft hands and quick feet catapulted him into the record book as an outstanding receiver for Varsity Blues football.

Between 1977 and 1981, Mark was the top receiver in Canadian university football. The three-time OUAA all-star and two-time CIAU all-Canadian remains the Varsity Blues’ all-time leading receiver leader, with 145 receptions for 2,385 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Mark also holds a number of OUAA and CIAU records that still remain in the top ten in the country, including single game receptions (17), most receptions in a season (57) and career receiving yards. In 1981 Mark set an OUAA record with most yards receiving in a season (779). Mark and quarterback Dan Feraday, a fellow U of T Sports Hall of Fame member, broke countless records and are considered one of the best passing tandems of all time.

Mark also had a major impact on the U of T intramural program as a participant, coach, referee and administrator. In his third season with the Varsity Blues, he was recognized for his contributions to university athletics from the standpoint of leadership, sportsmanship and performance with the George M. Biggs Trophy.
