Kim Crawford is one of the most decorated multi-sport athletes ever to represent the Blue and White. The 1991 U of T Athlete of the Year achieved excellence in three sports: fencing, track and field, and cross country, and has represented Canada as a member of both the national and Olympic teams.
As a fencer, Kim was a nationally ranked and carded athlete. Her 1991 Ontario Intercollegiate (OWIAA) individual epee title led her colleagues to the épée team title and played a major role in the team's overall OWIAA team championship. Kim went on to win Gold medals in national and international tournaments, and placed in the top 8 in four other major events across North America.
She then donned the Blue and White again to help the Blues with a to a provincial Bronze medal in cross country and two relay victories at the OWIAA track and field championships. In 1992 she also captured Gold in the 1000m and earned OWIAA All-Star honours.
Kim combined her diverse athletic skills to excel in the modern pentathlon (freestyle swimming, cross country, épée, equestrian and pistol shooting). A national team member who was selected to represent Canada at the 1991 World Championships, Kim took home the silver medal from the Canadian championships in 1991 and turned in two top-ten performances in international competition, including a fourth place finish at the Stockholm Cup.
