A four-time captain of the Varsity Blues women’s basketball team, Theresa was the all-star point guard who led the Blues to their first and only national women’s basketball title in 1986. She led her team to an amazing record of 30 wins and 0 losses against Canadian opponents that season This incredible accomplishment was recognized in 2004, when the team was inducted into the U of T Sports Hall of Fame. 

Theresa’s outstanding skill and leadership earned her four OWIAA all-star awards and a berth on the Canadian national team, where she competed from 1984 to1987. After her playing days ended, her success on the court continued on the bench, coaching the Ryerson Rams, Team Hamilton and Team Ontario. Theresa took the reins as head coach of the McMaster Marauders in 1992. She turned the team into a force to be reckoned with on the provincial and national circuit. 

Over the past 15 years, Theresa has led McMaster to win three OUA Championship titles (including their first in 1999), and to multiple CIS championship appearances. She has twice been recognized as the OUA Coach of the Year (2000 and 2007). Nowhere close to slowing down, Theresa led McMaster to its seventh national championship appearance this past March after the team placed first in the OUA West Division and won the silver medal at the OUA championship.
