Denise Scott is widely considered one of the best women’s basketball players to ever represent the University of Toronto.

A former member of the Canadian national team, the 6-foot-4 post was the dominant player in the early nineties. Denise is presently the only Varsity Blues women’s basketball player to be named a conference all-star four times and one of just three to be honoured as an all-Canadian in three consecutive years.

The Toronto native led the Varsity Blues in scoring during four of her five seasons and led the team in rebounding in all five years at U of T. Her performance in 1992-93 was a major factor in the Varsity Blues 25-9 game record, and earned Denise the OWIAA East Division Most Valuable Player Award, and the prestigious T-Holders’ female athlete of the year award.

Denise was also a member of Canada’s National Development Team and Junior National Development Team, and in 1991 competed for Canada at the Pan Am Games and on the silver medal World University Games team.
