GLATTER TO REPRESENT ROMANIA AT UEFA EUROPEAN QUALIFIERS

First-year University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer midfielder Sophia Glatter will compete for the Romanian national team in the upcoming 2026-27 UEFA Euro Qualifiers.

Set to take place between October 6 to 12, the U19 Romanian national team competes in the League B, Group B6 bracket. The mini-tournament will be hosted in Malta and will feature the host nation along with Romania, Czechia, and Kazakhstan. The winner and runner-up will secure promotion to Round 2 of the qualifiers.

Glatter formally joined the Romanian national team program this past May with the Euro Qualifiers marking her potential first cap.

A Life Sciences student from Etobicoke, Glatter has already appeared in six games for the Blues in her debut season. Highlighting her first-year so far, she notched two goals and an assist in Toronto's 4-0 shutout win over Trent on September 13.

A highly-touted recruit, Glatter previously helped lead her high school girl's soccer team to the YRAA Championship in 2024, and recently lifted the Ontario Cup, Woodbridge Champions Cup, and U17 National Championship with her club teams.
