The No. 5 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team defeated the Carleton Ravens 1-0 on Sunday (Sept. 27) afternoon in Ottawa.
Toronto controlled the pace of play right from the get-go in the nation's capital, generating chaos early and testing Ravens goalkeeper Tyler Dukart. Toronto's best chances late in the first half with first-year midfielder Mikaela Milczarek and third-year forward Beatrice Audain nearly finding the back of the net.
In the second half, U of T broke the deadlock with a 54
th minute goal from third-year forward Naomi Atem. The goal the second goal of the 2026 season for the global health student from Markham. From there, Toronto continued to hold the pace and fended off a late push from the Ravens with a block from first-year defender Tiffany Mao and a clearance by fellow first-year defender Jessie Rickards to seal the win.
In goal, fourth-year goalkeeper Maria Godoy-Atrash made three saves and earned her second clean sheet of the season.
With four games left in the regular season, the Blues will now turn their attention to the Nipissing Lakers when the Blue and White make the trip to North Bay on Sunday (Oct. 4) afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on
