MULLINS NAMED SPORT PEI FEMALE INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

As announced by Sport PEI on Thursday (Dec. 18), University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey student-athlete Maggie Mullins has been named the 2025 Synergy Fitness and Nutrition PEI Female Intercollegiate Athlete of the Year.

A third-year veteran for the Varsity Blues, Mullins was named a U SPORTS first team all-Canadian for the first time in her career this fall, receiving the honour in her hometown of Charlottetown as UPEI served as host for the national championship. A critical piece to the Blues gameplan and providing tremendous leadership as a team captain this season, she additionally was named an OUA all-star for a second consecutive year.

Her exceptional skill allowed her to serve as a defensive stopper for Toronto, while also spearheading the Blues transition offence. In total, Mullins appeared in and started all eight regular season games this fall, adding two goals to her career tally. She also appeared in both OUA postseason games for the Blues, helping U of T claim a provincial silver medal.

Throughout her high school career in PEI, Mullins was named a provincial all-star (2021, 2022, 2023) and Team MVP (2022, 2023) on multiple occasions. On the national level, she has proudly represented Team PEI at the Field Hockey Canada Nationals, helping the team achieve a bronze medal finish and earning tournament all-star honours in 2024.

This marks the second time Mullins has received the Sport PEI Female Intercollegiate Athlete of the Year, previously receiving the award following her freshman season at U of T in 2023.
