PLAYOFF PREVIEW: OUA MEN’S SOCCER SEMIFINAL

*Varsity Blues men's soccer semifinal preview, presented by Lebanese Garden*

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team hosts the Waterloo Warriors in a must-win OUA semifinal match this Saturday, October 24 at Varsity Stadium.

The Blues earned a first round playoff bye for the second consecutive season after finishing first overall in the OUA East division with a 10-1-1 (W-L-T) record. U of T knocked off the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, 4-2, in quarter-final action last weekend.

Should the Blues defeat the Warriors, U of T would then advance to their first OUA final since 2011 and would host the winner of York/Carleton for OUA gold next Saturday, November 1 at Varsity Stadium. With a Blues semifinal victory, the winner of the York/Carleton semifinal would also have punched their tickets to nationals in two weeks time.

The University of Toronto is the proud host of the 2025 U SPORTS men's soccer championship, November 6-9, at Varsity Stadium. The Blues earn a host berth but will be vying for their first OUA title since 2010 in hopes of a Top 4 seed at the national tournament.

The Waterloo Warriors finished the regular season with an 8-2-3 record, good for second place in the OUA West division. Following a first-round bye, the Warriors defeated the Brock Badgers, 3-0, on Saturday night to book their spot in the semifinals.
