BLUES PUNCH TICKET TO NATIONAL FINAL

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team earned a 12–5 victory over the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon, powered by a three-hit performance from Sam Aslanowicz, to improve to 3-0 at the 2025 Canadan national university championship in Montreal.

With the win, the undefeated Blues will have two chances to defeat the winner of Guelph/Carleton, who play tonight at 7 p.m., in tomorrow's final, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Aslanowicz went 3-for-5 with three RBI, while Diego Fuentes also tallied three hits as part of Toronto's 17-hit effort. The Blues jumped out early, scoring three runs in the second inning on a pair of productive outs and an Aslanowicz RBI single, before adding another in the third on a Guelph error.

U of T broke the game open in the sixth, plating five runs on six hits. Jalen Worthen delivered a two-RBI double, while Marcus Santos and Matt Fischer each drove in a run.

Starting pitcher Matthew Clarke earned the win, striking out nine over six innings while allowing just two earned runs.
