In Game 1, a five-run fourth inning broke a 1-1 stalemate and secured the victory for the Blues. Five different U of T batters registered an RBI in the win led by veteran infielder Spenser Ross. The Atmospheric Physics major would finish the contest going 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBI, and one run. Meanwhile, second-year pitcher Jonathan Onderisin earned the win going five innings with four strikeouts while conceding just one earned run on four hits and two walks.
Shifting to Game 2, U of T were able to score seven runs across the first two innings of the dominant win. Fifth-year outfielder Justin Hicks went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while both Kirk Gibson and Ryan Hsu also notched multiple hits going 2-for-3 and 2-for-4, respectively. Veteran pitcher Josh Neposlan picked up the win working four innings with two strikeouts and one earned run given up.
In addition to the Sunday regular season contests, the Blues also competed in an exhibition doubleheader versus the Brock Badgers on Saturday (Sept. 12). In two tightly contested games, Toronto picked up a 4-3 win before dropping a 6-2 decision.
