BLUES TAKE DOWN PALADINS IN KINGSTON

Box Score

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over the Royal Military College Paladins on September 15, 2024 in Kingston.

After a scoreless first half, the Varsity Blues broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when defender Samantha Gravina found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Toronto continued to control the game, adding another goal in the 73rd minute by midfielder Julia Cristovao, her second of the season, to double the lead.

Toronto dominated possession and outshot RMC 10-5, recording seven shots on target. Goalkeeper Juliana Ottoni's play was a key part of the victory for Toronto, stopping all three shots she faced to secure the clean sheet.

RMC's Brianna West was busy in goal, making five saves but unable to stop Toronto's persistent second-half attack. Despite attempts from RMC's Courtney Drew and Alex Vinzenz, the Paladins struggled to break down Toronto's solid defense.

The Blues will find themselves back in eastern Ontario next weekend, where they will face the Carleton Ravens on Friday, September 20. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the game can be streamed live via oua.tv.
