BLUES, MARAUDERS GO 1-1 IN HAMILTON

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team dropped a narrow 7-6 decision before bouncing back with a 12-1 victory over the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, October 6 in Hamilton, Ont.

Peter Nash pitched four innings, striking out three, while Eric Parker came in for the next four, also striking out three and allowing just one run in Game 1. Michael Deluca went 3-for-5 at the plate, scoring twice, while Gabriel Nakonechny, Roy Suzuki Joe Woods and Tanner Young-Schultz each had two hits and one RBI in the loss.

Dean Christidis pitched six innings in Game 2, allowing only one run. Spencer Muirhead finished the game with two strikes in a scoreless seventh inning.

UP NEXT: The Blues await the results of the remaining regular season games to determine their seeding as they look to defend their provincial title at the 2018 OUA Championships, October 19-21, in Ajax, Ont.
