BLUES SPLIT WITH BADGERS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team defeated the Brock Badgers 6-2, before falling 5-4 on Sunday, September 18 at Dan Lang Field.

Fourth-year pitcher Colin Edwards pitched a complete game, striking out three while only allowing five hits. Offensively, Roy Suzuki led the team with two hits and two RBI, while Andrew Mannone and Kyle Bowers also had two hits apiece in the win.

The second game of the day saw Toronto's come-back attempt fall just short. Down 3-0 in the first inning, the Blues added single runs in the second, third and fourth to even the score. The Badgers responded with one run in the fifth and sixth, respectively, and Toronto was unable to complete the comeback.

Sophomore Adam Odd led the Blues with two hits and one RBI. Peter Nash pitched five innings, striking out two in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action this Saturday, September 24 when they host the Waterloo Warriors at Dan Lang Field. Game time is set for 12 and 3:30 p.m.
