The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team fell 6-0 before bouncing back with a 3-2 victory over the Western Mustangs on Tuesday in London, Ont.
With the win, the Blues improve to 7-6-1 and sit in fourth place in the OUA standings.
The Mustangs got out to a 5-0 lead after the first two innings in Game 1. Spencer Muirhead led the Blues with two hits. Peter Nash pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and striking out two.
Tied 2-2 after three innings, veteran Kyle Bowers singled to get on base. He then advanced to third on a Western error and Nicholas Greenslade's ensuing single drove him in for the winning run.
Bowers led the blues with two hits, while Greenslade and Brandon Hadfield each had an RBI in the win.
Colin Edwards pitched the complete game, striking out six in the victory.
The Varsity Blues return to action this Friday, October 9 as they head to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers. Game times are 12/3:30pm. Toronto wraps up the regular season hosting Laurier on Saturday, October 10 at Dan Lang Field. The 2015 OUA championship is set for October 16-18 in London, Ont.
