BLUES BASEBALL FALLS TO RAMS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team fell 7-5 to the Ryerson Rams on Thursday night (Sept. 26) at Talbot Park.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 5-8 on the season.

Ryerson got out to a quick 3-0 lead after the first, but the Blues battled back and evened the score at 4-4 after four innings. The Rams responded with two in the bottom of the fifth and the Blues were unable to complete the come back win.

Rookie Brandon Hadfield of Ariss, Ont., led the Blues with three hits, Bradley Bedford, Jonathan Isaac and Steven Hersch each had an RBI in the loss.

Alexander Paglia got the start on the mound, striking out three in 2.2 innings.

The Varsity Blues return to action this Saturday, September 28 as they host the Queen Gaels at Dan Lang Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
