The Varsity Blues baseball team rebounded from a 3-2 loss with a 4-0 win over the Western Mustangs on Sunday, September 16 at Dan Lang Field.
In the first game of the day, the Blues found themselves down 3-1 heading into the final inning. U of T rallied with a Jonathan Isaac home run, but it wasn’t enough as Western squeaked out the 3-2 win. Isaac led the Blues with one hit, one RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Donnelly pitched the complete game, allowing 12 hits and striking out one.
U of T bounced back in the second game of the day, taking a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning that would not diminish. Toronto added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to round out the win. Harrison Carmichael led the Blues with two hits and one RBI. Drew Taylor pitched the complete game shut out, allowing five hits and striking out two.
The Varsity Blues return to action this Wednesday, September 19 as they host the Guelph Gryphons at Dan Lang field. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.
