BLUES BASEBALL BUMPED BY BADGERS

The Varsity Blues baseball team dropped a 13-10 decision to the Brock Badgers on Wednesday, September 12 at George Taylor Field in St. Catharines, Ont.

With Toronto leading 9-8, the Badgers exploded for five runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away. The Blues drop to 1-2 on the season, with the Badgers improving to 2-1.

Leading the Varsity Blues was Toronto native Steven Hersch, who went 4-for-6 with three runs scored. Harrison Carmichael (Charlottetown) and Andrew Mannone (Scarborough) were both 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

Toronto's Dylan Kelly suffered the loss allowing eight runs on four hits in 3.2 innings. The Varsity Blues pitching staff walked a total of 10 Brock players on the night.

The Varsity Blues will look to bounce back this Saturday, September 15 as they travel to Waterloo, Ont., for a double header versus the Laurier Golden Hawks. Game times are 4 and 7 p.m.
