Toronto continued to push all day with a total of 17 shots in the game. Tied 1-1 at the half, the Blues took the lead as LaShaunna Harper (Toronto) scored in the 78th minute of game. Rookie Sarah Watling added an insurance marker, scoring her first career goal in the 85th minute.
Aside from the Blues aggressive shooting, they also had another great effort from their goalkeeper Sara Petrucci (Bolton). Petrucci stopped 6-of-7 shots in the win.
The Varsity Blues return to action this Sunday, October 14, when they host the Ryerson Rams at Varsity Centre. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
