Fourth-year midfielder Dylan Bams scored twice to lead the Varsity Blues men’s soccer team to a 7-0 victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 24) in Kingston, Ont.
With the win, the Blues jump to a second place tie with a 3-1-1 record, while the Paladins 0-5 record now keeps them in last place in the OUA East division.
A native of Fanny Bay, B.C., Bams two scores came within nine minutes of each other in the first half of the game.
Five other Varsity Blues scored in the victory. Second-year striker Mario Kovacevic of Woodbridge, Ont. and fourth-year midfielder from Mississauga, Ont. Geoffrey Borgmann also added in goals in the first half. Belgrade native Veljko Lukovic, Ryan Sciacchitano of Woodbridge, Ont. and Toronto native Justin Liendo scored in the second half to seal the win for the Blues.
The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow when take on the Queen’s Gaels in Kingston, Ont. The game begins at 3:15 p.m.
