The Varsity Blues baseball team fell 5-0 and 6-2 to the OUA defending champion Brock Badgers on Tuesday, October 4 at Community Park in St. Catharines, Ont.
The doubleheader was originally scheduled for Sunday, October 2 but was postponed due to rain.
The Badgers got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first game of the day and added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Fifth-year pitcher Andrew Bergman struck out six over five innings of work in the loss.
Brock again got out to an early lead and despite their best effort, Toronto was unable to close the gap. Tyler Wilson struck out five in five innings in the losing effort. Kyle Bowers recorded one RBI on the night.
The Varsity Blues return to action on Friday, October 7 as they head to London, Ont., for a doubleheader versus the Western Mustangs. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
