The No. 9 Varsity Blues men’s soccer team extended their win streak to three with a 2-0 shut out victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday, October 1 in Sudbury, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 5-1-1 and remain in second place in the OUA East division.

Second-year midfielder Veljko Lukovic of Belgrade opened the scoring in the 45th minute to give U of T a 1-0 lead at half.

Team captain Darragh McGee (Donegal, Ireland) added some insurance in the 80th minute, his fourth of the season, to secure the win.

Veteran goalkeeper John Smits earned his fourth shut out of the season.

The Varsity Bleus return to the field tomorrow as they travel to North Bay, Ont., to take on the Nipissing Lakers. Game time is set for 2:15 p.m.
