BLUES BASEBALL BEATS BADGERS 11-1

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team handily defeated the Brock Badgers 11-1 on Saturday, September 26 at Community Park in St. Catharines, Ont.

The second game of the doubleheader was rained out and will be rescheduled by the OUA.

The Blues bats were swinging early as Toronto scored two runs in the top of the first inning. The most excited play of the day came in the top of the third when second-year standout James McNeill (Toronto) hit a three-run homer and Jake Gallo (Toronto) followed suit with a home run of his own to give the Blues a commanding lead.

The Blues added another two tallies in the top of the fourth, and singles in the fifth and seventh innings to round out their 11-1 victory.

McNeil led all players with four RBI, while Chris Dahiroc (Ajax, Ont.) had two hits, two RBI and two runs in the victory.

Tyler Wilson (Port Hope, Ont.) got the win for the Blues. He pitched all seven innings, allowing only five hits and one walk.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow (Sept. 27) when they travel to take on the Waterloo Warriors. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
