The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team fell 17-4 versus the Trent Excalibur on Saturday (Sept. 26) afternoon in Kingston.
Facing off against the undefeated Excalibur, Toronto kept pace early. With a goal from fifth-year attack Rheanna Swanson in the sixth minute, the Blues found themselves trailing just 3-1 through the first 10 minutes of action. However, nine unanswered goals from Trent would establish a lead just too big for U of T to close.
Fifth-year midfielder Rachael Holmes would notch two more goals for Toronto, while first-year midfielder Skye MacLean would add a single marker to round out the scoring for U of T.
Following an exhibition outing at Brock next Wednesday (Sept. 30), the Varsity Blues will close out their regular season schedule on home turf with a pair of games on Sunday, Oct. 4. Toronto will play host to Ontario Tech and Queen's. Tickets for the full day of OUA women's lacrosse action are available at
