th in program history on Mar. 7-8 in Waterloo, Ont.
With lots of roster turnover, the Blues will rely on a strong mix of veteran fencers and fresh faces as they look to continue their OUA dynasty.
Third-year nutritional sciences student Leo Chen looks to build off of his gold medal wins in men's sabre at the Queen's Open and the RMC Team Invitational in Kingston. The Richmond Hill native's dominance was on display in Kingston, helping lead his team to multiple first place finishes, including earning a first-round bye after a 5-0 round robin performance at the Queen's Open.
Another Blue looking to defend their crown is second-year arts and science student Matthew Teng. Teng helped lead the Blues to victory along with Chen in the fall in the men's team sabre. Meanwhile, epee veterans Seraphim Jarov and Nicholas Gutierrez-Sarabia showcase the depth of talent throughout the U of T roster. Jarov is coming off of a bronze medal performance at the provincial showcase in 2025 and gold in 2024, while Gutierrez-Sarabia is a two-time silver medalist in the event as well.
In 2025, U of T took first place in all three individual disciplines and earned medals in each of the three team relay events. The Blues will look to build off of last year's success as competition begins on the morning of Saturday, Mar. 7. Following individual disciplines on Day 1, team relays will take place on Day 2, with an overall OUA champion to be crowned at the end of competition on Sunday, Mar. 8.
