CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW: CANADIAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's golf team heads to Rivershore Golf Links in Kamloops, B.C., to compete at the 2025 Canadian University-College Championships from June 2-6.

As OUA provincial champions from this past fall, the Varsity Blues earned automatic entry into the national event. They will be looking to improve on a seventh-place finish at the Golf Canada showcase a year ago, just missing out on the cut for the Top 6 in 2024.

Toronto will look to rely on PhD candidate Anna Foley, winner of the OUA Judy McCrae Trophy as individual champion this past fall at the OUA championships in Windsor. At Ambassador Golf Club, Foley posted a two-day total of 148, winning the individual title by a single stroke. For the OUA all-star, her Day 2 comeback saw her post a tournament-best 71, moving up three positions to take the top step on the podium. Foley also secured individual gold at the Western Invitational and individual silver at the Waterloo Invitational.

The Blues featured three more Top 25 results a the OUA championships as Mia Wong finished 13th with a two-day total of 160 (82, 78), while both Mia Sung (83, 83) and Tara O'Connor (86, 80) tied for 21st with scores of 166. Prior to the provincial championship, U of T also saw Ashley Noh pick up bronze at the Guelph Fall Kick Off, O'Connor place fourth at the Brock Invitational, and Wong finish fourth at the Waterloo Invitational.

Following practice rounds on Monday (June 2), the championships at the par-72 course will formally begin on Tuesday (June 3) morning with tee-offs schedule to start at 7:30 a.m. (PST). After the second round, the cut will occur with the lowest six women's teams or any team within 15 shots of the lead advancing to the third and fourth rounds. Additionally, individuals within 10 shots of the leader will make the cut, or any player within the Top 10, regardless of their team standings.
