University of Toronto Varsity Blues wrestler Andrija Rasovic earned a first-place finish at the National Championship of Montenegro.

A native of Podgorica, Montenegro, the victory comes with major significance as it occurred at the first-ever national freestyle championship held in Montenegro. Taking place on December 21 in Podgorica, Rasovic claimed gold in the 97kg weight class.

The U SPORTS academic all-Canadian has been a member of the Varsity Blues wrestling team since 2021, competing at both OUA and U SPORTS Championships while working towards a PhD in theoretical physics.

Rasovic and the Blues continue their 2025-26 competition schedule in the new year with the Brock Open, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 10.
