BOTH WOMEN AND MEN CLAIM THE OVERALL WIN AT U OF T BONSPIEL

Both the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's and men's curling teams earned the overall win at the annual U of T Bonspiel, hosted at the Thornhill Curling Club on Saturday, Nov. 29.

The U of T men finished the day with an unblemished 3-0 record. The Blues began with an early morning victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers, before knocking off the Durham Lords in the afternoon to claim a sweep of the OCAA opponents. Toronto then finished the day with a victory over TMU to finish with the only undefeated record among the four participating teams, earning the overall bonspiel win.

On the women's side of the draw which featured six competing teams, U of T started the Saturday showcase with a win over the Humber Hawks. That was followed by another victory versus the Mohawk Mountaineers to secure another OCAA sweep for Blues curling. Toronto's final win of the day came over the Algoma Thunderbirds, allowing the U of T women to also claim the overall victory as the lone 3-0 record on the day.

Following the end of the fall semester, the Blues competition schedule will resume in 2026 with the McMaster Invitational Bonspiel. The outing is Hamilton is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 3.
