The No. 9 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's soccer team welcome the No. 8 ranked Guelph Gryphons for the 2025 OUA Women's Soccer Championship final this Saturday, November 1 inside Varsity Stadium at 12 p.m.
U of T continued their stellar defensive output securing back-to-back 1-0 clean sheet victories in the quarter-finals over No. 3 Ottawa and semifinals versus No. 4 Western. The Blues earned a bye to the second round of the postseason after finishing first in the OUA East standings with a record of 9-2-1 (W-L-T). This included a postseason push winning five of their last six regular season games. Toronto's defensive identity saw them concede just 10 goals across 12 regular season contests, ranking them second in the province in goals allowed. Adding in the two playoff shutouts, U of T have now registered clean sheets in nine of their 11 wins this season.
After two draws to close out their regular season, the Gryphons have rebounded with a 1-0 quarter-final win over Laurier and 4-0 semifinal win over No. 5 Queen's. Guelph concluded the regular season with an 8-1-3 record also earning a first round playoff bye. Offensively, the Gryphons scored the fourth most goals in the province (31) with two players ranking as Top 6 goal-scorers in the province. The high-powered attack has tallied three or more goals six times including their most recent semifinal win versus the Gaels.
This game will mark the first meeting between Toronto and Guelph since 2005. The Blues are looking to claim their first OUA provincial banner in program history. Meanwhile, the Gryphons captured their first and only OUA women's soccer championship in 2017.
