The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2025 season with two games at the OUA championship on Saturday, October 18 in Waterloo, Ont.
The Blues opened the day with a tough 17-5 loss to the Western Mustangs before falling11-8 to the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
Rheanna Swanson earned player of the game honours after leading the Blues with three goals versus the Mustangs, while Vanessa Donaldson scored two. Elizabeth McDonald made 22 saves in the loss.
In the second game of the day, the Blues and Ridgebacks were tied 4-4 after the first quarter; however, Ontario Tech scored four unanswered goals to take an 8-4 advantage into halftime. Down 11-5 heading into the final frame, the Blues stormed back with three goals, but it wasn't enough as they ultimately fell 11-8.
Isabella Ward led Toronto with three goals, while Swanson had two goals and one assist. Julia Ibelings notched one goal and two assists, with Jasleen Sandhu and Natasha James each adding single tallies.
Following U of T's final game of the championship, Swanson was named an OUA all-star for the second time in her career.
