The University of Toronto Varsity Blues opened the 2025 OUA women's lacrosse championship with a 13-3 loss to the Queen's Gaels on Friday afternoon in Waterloo, Ont.
Toronto's goals came from the sticks of their top two scorers on the season – Rheanna Swnson and Isabella Ward, as well as first-year midfielder Trinity Meachem.
Blues goalie Elizabeth McDonald earned player of the game honours following a 28-save effort.
The Blues will take on the Western Mustangs, who dropped a narrow 13-12 decision to the host Laurier Golden Hawks on Day 1, in consolation semifinal action on Saturday morning at 11:45 a.m.
