The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team opened their 2024 season with a 15-5 victory over the McMaster Marauders and 17-4 loss over the host Western Mustangs on Sunday, September 8 in London, Ont.

Fourth-year midfielder Lily Brooks led the Blues with four goals, while Rheanna Swanson scored three goals and added two assists. Bridget Henson and Michaela Kitor each scored twice, with Isabella Ward adding one goal and three assists in the win.
 
Pippa Sinyard, Julia Ibelings and Holly Bureau all added single tallies in the victory.
 
Western 17, Toronto 4
 
Bureau, Swanson, Brooks and Mikayla Reitman all scored single goals in the loss.
 
The Blues are back in action next Saturday, September 14 as they head to Kingston, Ont., to take on the Trent Excalibur (10:15 a.m.) and Ottawa Gee-Gees (3:30 p.m.).
