The University of Toronto men's curling team made the trip to Guelph, Ont. to participate in the Guelph Invitational this weekend (Nov. 9-10).
The Blues opened their season on Saturday, November 9 with a tight 7-6 loss to the Brock Badgers. The match was tied after eight ends, but the Badgers prevailed on the draw to the button. Toronto rebounded with a 7-2 win over the McMaster Marauders and a 5-4 defeat of the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
Sunday, November 10 saw the Blues continue their winning ways by taking down the York Lions by a score of 6-3, then came up short in the main event final, 5-3 to the Mohawk Mountaineers.
Toronto now holds a 3-2 record on the season after the weekend, and will look to keep their winning ways going on Saturday, November 30 when they host the U of T Bonspiel at the Thornhill Golf & Country Club.
