BLUES FIELD ATHLETES SHINE AT FRED FOOT CLASSIC

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues track and field team hosted the 21st edition of their annual Fred Foot Classic today (Saturday, January 20) in the Bruce Kidd Field House. 
 
Men's results: 

On the field, Jason Okpere made a strong impression in the men's weight throw, earning second place with a distance of 12.03m. Okpere's distance was over two meters ahead of third place.
 
First-year distance runner Adam Pralat came fourth in the men's 1,500m dash with a time of 4:08.57, while fellow first-year Hayden Wonnacott earned seventh in the men's 300m with a time of 37.35. 
 
Women's results: 

Fifth-year thrower Phoebe Price-Roberts led the Blues to victory once again in the women's weight throw with a distance of 17.19m, while Voke Ewhrudjakpor earned third place in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.04m. 
 
Alexzandra Throndson finished fifth in the women's pole vault with a height of 3.75m. 
 
Shifting to the track, Katherine Vuckovic came sixth in the women's 1,000m with a time of 3:03.24. Annemieke Tucker and Samantha Macdonald finished the women's 1,500m dash side by side, earning seventh and eighth with times of 4:59.91 and 4:59.97 respectively . 
 
Next up, the Blues will compete in the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University from Friday, January 26 to Saturday, January 27.
