BLUES REACH PODIUM EIGHT TIMES AT YORK LAST CHANCE MEET

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's track and field teams competed in the York Last Chance Meet on Friday, March 11 at York University.
 
WOMEN:
 
Elizabeth Martin, Fiona Huang, Helena Jovic and Onome Gbinje finished first in the 4x200m, with a time of (1:44.22).

Second-year sprinter Gbinje also placed second in the 60m (7.64).

In the 60m hurdles, first-year sprinter Luiza Lena finished in second place, with a time of 8.88.

First-year sprinter Maya Ryan finished fifth in the 300m (41.20), while teammates Jovic and Huang finished seventh (41.64) and eleventh (43.16) respectively.

In pole vault, third-year vaulter Bryn Walsh finished in fifth place with a height of 3.60m, while second-year Zoe Petkovic finished in sixth with a height of 3.40m.

First-year thrower Voke Ewhrudjakpor placed seventh in shot put, with a distance of 11.19m. 

Second-year jumper Megan Bryan placed eighth in long jump (5.25m).

Men:

First-year sprinter David Adeleye placed second in the 60m, with a time of 8.20.

In the 4x200m, a team of Akil Julien, Carson Bradley, Jake Leung and Adam Exley placed second (1:32.77).

Middle distance runners Jerome Jude and Mathias Gelber placed third (1:23.64) and fourth (1:25.14) respectively in the 600m.

In the 300m, first-year Caiden Schultz placed twelfth (36.82), while third-year Zaid Malik finished in seventeenth place (38.11).

First-year Mason McGregor placed second in high jump, with a height of 1.89m.

Jumpers Eman Ranne and Kosara Gumarathas finished in fourth (12.89m) and sixth (11.98m) in triple jump.

In throws, first-year John Babits placed eighth (9.69m) in shot put and fourth (12.31m) in weight throw. Third-year Matthew Loenhart also competed in weight throw, finishing third (13.59m).
