The Varsity Blues field hockey team wrapped up their preseason with a 3-1 win over Bates College on Sunday (Sept. 3) morning at Back Campus Field. 
 
The Blues came out blazing opening the scoring in the third minute to take an early lead. Toronto would extend their lead to two goals in the second quarter. 
 
Kate McManaman scored Bates' lone goal of the game early in the third quarter to bring Bates within one. U of T sealed the win a few minutes later to take the game 3-1. 
 
The Blues now look forward to the OUA regular season when they head to Waterloo, Ont. on Saturday, September 16. Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
