University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's field hockey goalie Mary Yang has been named OUA athlete of the week for the period ending September 20, 2026.

A second-year goalkeeper from Calgary, Yang earned two more clean sheets this weekend as the Blues garnered a tie versus Waterloo and victory over Western. The Team Canada goalie has yet to be scored on this season helping the Blues to be the only OUA club to not concede a goal through four regular season contests so far this season.

With an undefeated record of 3-0-1, the Varsity Blues field hockey team currently sits at the top of the OUA standings. Yang and the field hockey team are back in action on Friday (Sept. 25) in Kingston versus the Queen's Gaels before returning to Toronto for a showdown against the York Lions on Sunday (Sept. 27).
