The University of Toronto women's lacrosse team began their 2023 campaign on Saturday (Sept. 9) in Kingston.

U of T opened the day facing the host Queen's Gaels, falling by a final score of 19-4 versus the home side.

Goal scorers for the Blues included Rheanna Swanson, Rylin Cormier, Michaela Kitor, and Pippa Sinyard.

Toronto then battled the Trent Excalibur in the afternoon, dropping the tightly contested second match of the day 13-7.

Cormier added another three goals to her day, finishing the opening weekend with five total points (4 G, 1 A). Swanson also found the back of the net again, scoring a single marker, while Lily Brooks added two goals and Julia Ibelings rounded out Toronto's scoring for the day.

The Varsity Blues next return to Toronto for their lone home weekend of the season, challenging Queen's and Ontario Tech on Saturday, Sept. 16. Tickets for all the OUA action at Varsity Stadium on that day can be purchased at varsityblues.ca/tickets.
